HOW IT BEGAN

Born in 1966 in Baar, canton of Zug, Switzerland, I began my career as a mechanical draftsman specializing in valves and actuators at Landis & Gyr, which Siemens acquired in 1997.

My passion for athletics was evident as I competed in the 800m and 1500m events, later transitioning into coaching successful sprint and relay teams at LK Zug.

Growing up during the vibrant 80s and 90s, I witnessed significant historical changes, such as the transformation of former Yugoslavia and the fall of the Berlin Wall. This dynamic period allowed me to explore a rapidly evolving Europe in my trusty old Toyota Corolla, alongside embarking on an adventurous longer trip through Mexico.

After finishing my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering & Business Administration, I started my professional career, first introdicing a Kanban system, then outsouring and closing factories, ending up in Procurement.

Those were truly amazing times filled with exploration and excitement.

Roots in Switzerland

WORKING AND LIVING IN ASIA

In 2004, I swapped my 30,000-resident hometown, Baar, for the 30-million metropolis of Shanghai. Quite a change. Alone, Pudong Avenue -where I lived- probably had more people than all of Baar.

I came to China for what we then called Global Sourcing, procuring materials and products for our factories in Europe and the Americas. The local CFO at the time joked: "Since the spy from HQ is here anyway, let’s give him more to do—he can also handle Project Procurement for our local business." And so, I did. And never made it back to HQ.

From China, I moved to Thailand, then Singapore, and during these years, I met my partner, Helen, who eventually brought me back home to The Philippines.

Over these years, I also had the privilege of leading the Middle East procurement team for eight years, remotely from Singapore. Business took me frequently to Dubai, Qatar, and Cairo—fantastic learning, great development, truly unforgettable times.

Exploring the world and learning

Building What’s Next

Over the years, I found satisfaction not only in my primary role of Strategic Procurement, but also enjoyed new technology scouting, I was fascinated over the past decade with all the Industrial IoT, wireless solutions, and large language models (LLM) coming up.

But these past years also made me think "What and where is home?" — and I started more seriously to consider being closer to where I wanted to be: in CDO, with my family. To make that happen, I decided to take a major change and left the large corporate world after some fantastic 37 years.

Here we are in 2025: me passing on parts of my vast experience. Also, me building my own company together with long term business colleagues and friends.

And, I have time for my 2 grandchildren. One of the best experiences ever to see them growing up!

I am excited to see what the next years will bring! I would be humbled to walk parts of these coming years with you and together we build for a sustainable future!
